About Ageless Athlete

imageThe Ageless Athlete web site aims at the growing number of adults, both male and female, who find themselves with increased leisure time and the desire to be active and improve their fitness in sports. Applicable sports include soccer, hockey, baseball, badminton, and tennis.

Old-timer leagues, formed to address these needs, are usually limited to an age group above 40 or 45. Athletes above these ages - known as Master athletes - have additional physiological needs to their younger counterparts.

This web site, created by Gordon Miller, above, is intended to help improve the fitness of, and injury prevention in, master athletes. Whether you are just starting out or are experienced and want to improve your fitness, this site is for you.

The Story behind the Website

I have played soccer every year for as long as I can remember. Sundays have become my sports day, like a religion. In 2007, I was close to hanging up my boots. Over the previous few winters I had worked hard on conditioning that showed little on the field. I was frustrated with my sluggish play, but felt it was a result of the aging process. WRONG! Nothing could be further from the truth. This site shows you how to dispel the myth of the "aging process" through:

  • Hydrating properly
  • Exercising regularly with the right amount of intensity
  • Eating like an athlete.

In February of 2008, I was introduced to Isagenix, a superfood. I started with the electrolyte energy drink, which actually gave me more energy, and was so impressed I tried a 30-day program. Within a few days, I could feel surges of energy. Within 6 weeks I had lost 22 pounds I never knew I needed to lose, went from a 36 to a 33 waist, and played out the soccer season with boundless energy. All of a sudden, my sports career had a new life. I was so excited that I swore to share my experience with the world. As a result, I created this website to spread the word.

I have since discontinued the superfood regimen, choosing an "eat sensible" strategy instead, proving that superior health and fitness can be achieved with commitment, determination, and sensible diet. However, I still strongly recommend Isagenix as a quick start or supplement to your fitness program. At the same time, you will find nutritional strategies for master athletes in the site.

Stretching has played an important role in my flexibility, which is the foundation for the speed and agility, and I have found that The Stretching Institute give the best advice on the planet.
